Our histology laboratory is currently having problems with their
specials stains; in particular the silver stains. Can you please tell me
what instrumentation others in the field may be using for special
stains?
Thank you

Please help, we have had an increase in demands for repeats on our AFB stain.
Our pathologists have been noticing what they believe are false positives on
our slides. We perform our AFBs on the Ventana Nexus and some are done by hand.
Because of this problem, we have been doing side by side
We are currently trying to find a manufacturer that may sell cover glass

We are looking to revamp our procedure for CJD and I would like to see
if there are different protocols out there. At this point we are
handling the whole process by hand, including melting the paraffin in a
melting pot. Do we need a separate oven for melting the paraffin and
heating the slides?
Thank you for your very prompt response. I do agree that we are here for
the patient.
Unfotunately I am under the gun to bring down costs and I thought that
might be one way. Thanks again, and look forward to other responses.
