The University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine is looking for a
histology technician. Full-time, Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, benefits
eligible position. Our lab provides histology service to the UGA CVM Teaching
Hospital as well as to the Athens Veterinary Diagnostic
We do a lot of large eyes and tissue sections as well. We use the HistoBond
slides from Ted Pella. #260240 for the 2x3 slides, and #260378 for the
corresponding coverslips. Hope this helps :-)

We used to get almost all of our IHC reagents from DAKO, but when they fully
merged with Agilent their prices went up exponentially. We changed to Biocare
Medical and have found that almost all of their reagents work better than
DAKO's did. Some of our antibodies had to be diluted out more,
Biocare Medical Intellipath...its completely open and is a continuous load
machine, meaning you can start a run on one rack while still loading programs
on the other racks if you choose. Biocare is coming out with a new machine in
January (I think), that is supposed to do heat retrieval online
The Primera units have customizable templates so you can set them up to have as
many identifiers as you need. We have had one of each for a little over a year
now, and like both of them. We purchased ours from Cancer Diagnostics, though.
