Hi:
I teach college human anatomy and physiology and would like to have a slide
or two of human skin with tattoos in cross section. Do you know where may I
get a hold of those? All I use these days is an illustration from the web.
Please, email me directly if you have constructive suggestion.
Hi:
I am preparing a device for blowing air into a tiny, subcylindrical
structure (diameter << 1 mm) in some (non-human) organisms. Heat extruded
Pasteur pipettes are good but too fragile for my taste.
What is the smallest diameter (easily available and cheap) syringe?

Close to where I leave, there is an establishment for blood "donations".
Apparently, the establishment pays per donation. I hypothesize that the
money explains why the place is generally "hopping" (today, ca. 8:30AM,

Dear Colleagues:
In this age of digital media, how common is to use VHS (= video home
system, analog medium) tapes to capture scientific information (e.g.
histological or of any other kind) that will then be analyzed? How common
do you think was the use of VHS tapes in science some 20 years ago?

Dear Colleagues:
I am writing a small paper resulting from research done with two

Hello Histonet-Listers:
This is a follow up on earlier messages re. fixation of insect parts for

First, thanks for the feedback to try minimizing the effect of setae in
creating an air bubble.
Second, we are having difficulties making the resin for blocks used in TEM

Hello Histonetetrs:
I am trying to fix insect wings for TEM. Less than ideal fixation appears
to be caused by abundant setae on the surface of the wings. Those setae,
trap air, thus making penetration of the fixative more difficult difficult.
Interestingly, also the wings tend to curl upon
