Hi, We fix 'Category-A' agent infected murine lungs in 10% buffered formalin for 7 days in ABSL-3. We also confirm tissue sterility by plating the tissue homogenates on suitable media before taking the samples out of ABSL-3 facility for sectioning. In your case 7 days should be enough, but it is always better to confirm the sterility of tissue.
