Recently my laboratory received paraffin tissue blocks from Kenya. They were
hand processed, and while sectioning we noticed an unusual chemical smell. I
wondered if anyone could tell me what types of reagents are most often used
for in Kenya for processing. Is ethanol, isopropanol, xylene, etc.
I really think that this question should be asked to whomever sent you the
blocks.
