To add to my earlier diatribe: I do not want a slide dripping with immersion oil to mess up my microscope. I expect you to mount the smear in resin. Many histotechnologists are uncomfortable doing this, so I often coverslip the slide myself. I'll use immersion oil on the coverslipped slide if I
