I use 0.5% Iodine in 70% Alcohol as a pretreatment to the Warthin-Starry
method to enhance Leptospira, Brachyspira and Lawsonia sp.
I find it works very well.
After bringing sections to deionised water treat with 0.5% Iodine in 70%
Alcohol (prepare fresh) for 5 min.
Treat in 5% Sodium
