uric acid decomposes the calcium structure. So if you use urine, make sure you 
test it for uric acid.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get a section of a sea urchin spine?  I 
tried decal but that didn't soften it at all and I tried using nair. If anyone 
has any suggestions please let me know
