The lamina propria brings small blood vessels and lymphatics close to
the epithelium lining the large and small intestines. This allows
nutrients to be passed back and forth and for the immune system to

i have a quistion please regarding the thickness of lamina propria in small or
larg intestine.
what is the significant of it?? does it mean inflamation and pathological
condition or mean more size and so absorption of nutrients? i mean does the
thickning is favorable or not?
