I was working at a grocery store deli with a BS in biology when a teacher from the local technical college started there for something to do over the summer. He told me about a program called "Histotechnology" that boasted 100% placement after graduation. That was enough for me & I was interning in Milwaukee, WI two years later.
I don't think anyone ever sets out to be a histotech, we all just sort of "fall into it".
