You should never use an open container with bleach in any place where you keep
slides, because bleach will affect the antigens in the sections and affect
histochemical reactions as well.
Carboard folders will catch fungus spores outside the refrigerator that
eventually will develop into fungi,
By folders, I assume you mean the cardboard ones. Why not store the slides in
something else, i.e. plastic boxes?
