Mountains of Ichkeria: Mujahideen took the initiative
Mujahideen took the initiative by practicing new
tactics of military activities.
On Monday in one of mountainous regions of CRI was
held meeting of Chechen command acting in southward
direction, in supervision of Shamil Basayev. According
to correspondent of Kavkaz-Center, who was present in
the meeting, command of mujahideen summed up
three-week battle operation in Vedeno region of CRI.
Shamil Basayev called actions of Chechen subdivisions
as historical ones.
He said, as a result of use of new tactics, invaluable
experience of conducting military actions against
Russian occupation grouping has been acquired. «Today,
it is possible to declare, that there was a rupture in
military opposition of the opponent. And rupture has
taken place in Vedeno region», - declared Shamil
Basayev.
Chechen commander analyzed actions of mujahideen and
aggressors. Strong and weak aspects in actions of
Chechen troops were marked. Basayev noted extremely
low fighting spirit of the opponent, therefore many
subdivisions of aggressors including paratroopers,
refuse to go to war front, preferring to defend in the
bases. Chechen commander informed, that there are
reliable evidences of serious disagreements among
command of occupation grouping. Relations between
Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Defense and
FSB of Russian Federation have frankly hostile
character. According to capability, each of these
departments tries to substitute the competitor.
Shamil Basayev has confirmed assumptions that
experience of local military operations in Vedeno
region will be used in other regions of the country.
On words of Basayev, Chechen troops have an effective
control system, coordination, investigations and today
are capable to solve large-scale operational tasks,
both in occupied territory of CRI, and in territory of
state - aggressor.
Shamil Basayev expressed concern about so-called
negotiations with invaders. In his view, the subject
of negotiations for today is not actual one. As long
as in territory of the country will be even one
Russian aggressor, the only negotiator with invaders
will be automatic Kalashnikov. Besides, reminded
Basayev, the fighting force will resolutely reject any
actions of political or military character
contradicting to Shariah.
