kena charge, remand dalam lokap, sempatlah 3 hari berbulan madu kali ke-2. Kali
pertama ketika belum nikah di melaka!
Azizan
marries student Norhayati at mosque
PADANG BESAR, Sat. - Azizan Abu Bakar, one of the main witnesses and an alleged victim in the sodomy trial of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, married Norhayati Saad at the Masjid Chuping, Mata Ayer, tonight. Azizan, 39 and Norhayati, 22 were charged with committing close proximity at the Alor Gajah Lower Syariah Court in Malacca on Thursday. The couple, who were accompanied by several family members, arrived at the mosque at around 9.30pm and were later pronounced as husband and wife after a simple akad nikah ceremony conducted by the imam Salleh Abdullah of Masjid Bawah Bukit Chuping. Sources from the Perlis Islamic Affairs Department had indicated that the couple was given the permission to get married after fulfilling the normal official procedures such as undergoing a marriage course for Muslim couples. Norhayati, who is a college student from Mata Ayer, was earlier in the morning seen attending a marriage counselling course conducted at Behor Temak before being taken to JAIP headquarters for an interview. The JAIP sources also indicated that Azizan, who is a widower, was not required to go through the course nor the interview. In the incident at 1.30am on Thursday, the couple was caught in a house in Taman Pengkalan Indah, Alor Gajah, with Azizan only in his sarong and Norhayati in her nightgown. The raiding team comprised second imam of the Alor Gajah Jamek Mosque, Sabri Yunus, Taman Pengkalan Indah welfare body chairman Hasbullah Ibrahim and two police officers. The couple's case would be mentioned on Wednesday. |
