Steam IDs are tied to the Steam login name. I can have all my games on the one Steam account (such as CS1.6, HL1, HL2, CSS) but also I could just have HL1 on one steam account, and a DIFFERENT account login and place all my HL2 games on it (at the time of purchasing over steam, be logged into that

There is a SteamID per Steam account, NOT a steam id per game. So its NOT possible for a steam id to collide with different users (as the Steam ID defines the account, not the game). - Alfred -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of David Harrison

[hlds] SteamID Uniqueness?

2005-04-19 Thread David Harrison
A quick question - is it possible for one user to have a SteamID from (say) the original Half-life game, and another user to have the same SteamID in Half-Life 2? I thought that each install of Steam only had one SteamID, which was used for all their games - can anyone confirm? Thanks, -- david ___
