Checking my web server, I'm not showing anyone recently downloading the
banner.gif from my fast http website.
Unfortunately, my webserver logs were only being kept for one day (fixed
now) so I can't look back for when the last file was fetched, but if someone
else happens to have web access logs
I'd think that his email address connected to this list and/or his IP would
be enough to positively identify him.
He knows that Valve had a legitimate reason for disabling his account, he's

Also, as for the lawsuit mentioned -- the steam agreement basically states

Does anyone remember actually WHEN this stopped working? I remember it
getting mentioned on here, and assumed it was a planned thing...
I've been mailed off list there by valve, suggesting that it wasn't planned,
perhaps an approximate date might help Valve figure out where it went wrong.

I know it used to work. I ran the OT servers & noticed it stop working
months ago. I think sometime last year they stopped working.
I was just asking if you honestly thought they would do that.
No harm done.

NAT by default will not forward incoming packets to ports that are not in
the routing table. That is how it keeps nasties out. If the port is already
open, then that is another story. So, when some nasty worm tries to come
into some Microsoft service that is full of exploits, the packet comes into
Same here - mine quit working a long time ago, used to work just fine, one

Do you honestly think Valve would disallow any custom maps thereby killing
any online game they make unless they make their own version of every custom
map out there?
I seriously SERIOUSLY doubt Valve would disallow any custom maps.

Yes I remember that article and I wonder if it is the same reasoning behind
this. If it was, then, you could say that maps only allowed by Valve are
allowed? Bye bye custom maps? I think we just need to know WHERE and WHY the

I wonder if this has anything to do with the advertising firm placing

Not me - the OP I think is the one with the WG. I use a Linksys with NAT in
place of a firewall. Works for me. Keeps nasties out. Unlike a firewall, it
does not keep nasties in, but so far nothing has gotten in. I run my web and
ftp and p2p servers on a linux box that have no access to the rest of

Same happened to me. It was working just fine, then after an update, POOF no
more banner. I still say that us that provide sv_urldownload servers should
be able to advertise where the content for maps are coming from.

I am going to still suggest that Ook should just return the WG and use

There is no reason that you can't run behind a WG firewall. I have two
separate Internet Connections and I use two WG firewalls. One is a small

need do is configure them correctly and your server will be fine.
I've alre
Go into the WG System Manager and open the Policy manager.
Select Setup/Intrusion Prevention/default packet handling
Uncheck the box "Auto Block Source of Packets not Handled".
That should stop the WG from blocking your IP.
BTW... I still can't ping your Public IP addy 69.74.70.242 but I can ping
