Yep - if I do this manually they happily run on whatever core I
designate. It is just weird that the default behaviour seems to be for
them to all start on the one core.
Probably should have pointed out that this is Windows 2003 Server

Bit of a weird problem - we have four CS (1.6) servers running on one
machine (dual Opteron, dual core). For some reason all the servers are
'bound' to one CPU - even though if I look at the properties in task
manager and check the affinity, they have all the processors checked.
Has anyone seen

You will need to specify the steamport via the -steamport (or -sport, I cant
remember what it is for CSS/CS1.6) in order to tell the server what Steam
(VAC) port to use when connecting.
Generally choose one +5 ports higher than the server's join port.

but I have been seeing an occasional disconnect with the "Cient timed out

I was running a playtest on my new Army2 map on Sunday and everyone got

No, we won't close our eyes since in this thread we are discussing one
particular problem caused by one particular update, not general tweaking
stuff.

Speaking of server crashes - you may find this article interesting:

Setting ErrorMode to 2 disables annoying popup which prevents server from
restarting.
Does not help with server's own error popups tho

Many thanks for that Roman, very helpful..I have however realised

get the two functioning together without screwing things up completely.
