Not all servers are created equally. And not all tutorials are accurate. The
two "how to's" on Steam's forum for Half Life DM Source are faulty. I also
challenge you to go to Google and find a "how to" for this game. The one
created by 1nsane, which i did happen to find in Google, is wrong. Also
google sucks @$$ if you want to find a quick, concise answer and not spend 3
hours clicking links to finds something pertinent.
For instance I've been trying to grab up all the dod (regular) maps I can.
Many of the links are outdated, replaced and even shut down yet google still
proudly displays

Also, I have no problems at all running a Half Life 2 DM dedicated server.
It is just this Half Life DM Source that won't run.

Dear colleagues,
I would like to talk about one problem everyone who ever moved their

that most players join servers via Favorites in Steam client. Also it
is well known that Steam client keeps only server IP address even if

I should be able to start a dedicated server using Steam's client/console
server. That is, I open Steam and then click on Dedicated Server and run the
game that way. I have copied HL1mp to the Steam user account folder, the
same place my other games go so that I can run them through steam's client

For Half Life Deathmatch Source, when I run the above dedicated server
