Sometimes, the update-tool can be really slow. Did you update the tool
before starting to update the server itself?

Hi everyone,
I am running a hand full of L4D and L4D2 servers on my Windows Server 2008
system. Since several weeks now my L4D(main)-folder is filling over and over
with dumpfiles (*.mdmp). I also check every day my system logs for service

The guy was doing that spy exploit and said he'll keep doing it.
I'll check the log files to see if it gave any errors.

Wondered if the guys at Valve where aware that steam more often
than not isn't attempting to decrypt preloads. Instead it just
tries to run the encrypted exe after unlock, which not surprisingly
doesn't work.
Windows solution to everything: Reinstall
Valve solution to everything: Delete clientregistry.blob

Yeah, correct. It was moved. Mods
I noticed this today when someone managed to upload a Lua script to our
autorun folder and screw our SQL database. Apparently the srcds engine.dll
GMod uses is outdated and doesn't have the fix Valve applied to TF2. Please
solve this quickly.

You might want to contact Garry about this, as far as I know its up to
mod authors to update their games.

Are lack of RCON responses an acknowledged bug on the list of things to

What OS is your server running on? I attempted this on Linux (going to

I loaded the update and now players cant join if there is a player in the
server already. It returns the server is full with 1 player in the game and
others trying to join.

I just went through and tried again on both Windows and Linux and was
unable to recreate the crash. If those who are experiencing this crash
could attempt the same thing on their server to see if it crashes, that
would be great. If it does crash, it's more than likely a plugin problem.

Do you have your search key set to something like
sv_search_key 1010,key:mykeyhere
?
If so you'd need to change it to 1011. That fixed it up for me. (You need to
do this on most updates).
