Hello, I am currently having issues running the latest HLDS through steam on FreeBSD 5.2.1. When launching HLDS with this command: ./hlds_run -game tfc -port 27015 +ip x.x.x.x +map 2fort -maxplayers 16 -autoupdate +exec server.cfg +sv_lan 0
the output is as follows: Auto detecting CPU Using Pentium II Optimised binary. Auto-restarting the server on crash Updating server using Steam. Checking bootstrapper version ... Updating Installation Logging in as 'vinylgruve' Checking/Installing 'Team Fortress Classic Base Content' version 5 Checking/Installing 'Linux Server Engine' version 15 Checking/Installing 'Half-Life Base Content' version 7 HLDS installation up to date Console initialized. scandir failed:/home/hlds/./valve/SAVE scandir failed:/home/hlds/./platform/SAVE Protocol version 47 Exe version 1.1.2.1/Stdio (tfc) Exe build: 02:38:31 Jul 7 2004 (2738) STEAM Auth Server couldn't exec language.cfg Executing Admin Mod config file Server IP address x.x.x.x:27015 Downloading Security Module from Speakeasy.net ...(hangs here for a bit) Error downloading Security Module from Speakeasy.net Server is not Secure. scandir failed:/home/hlds/./valve/SAVE scandir failed:/home/hlds/./platform/SAVE Executing Admin Mod config file Adding auth server 65.73.232.253:27040 Adding master server 207.173.177.11:27010 Adding master server 69.28.151.178:27010 ----- Then hangs here I've got the latest metamod and adminmod configured to run, and have taken the steps to disable them to see if that fixes the problem but still a no go. %pkg_info | grep linux linux-steam-1.0 Half Life dedicated server running on steam linux_base-8-8.0_4 Base set of packages needed in Linux mode (only for i386) %uname -a FreeBSD osiris.dawgpaw.net 5.2.1-RELEASE-p9 FreeBSD 5.2.1-RELEASE-p9 #1: Tue Nov 2 18:49:09 MST 2004 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/OSIRIS i386 Ive got CPU_ENABLE_SSE in the kernel enabled as an option and recompiled & installed it. linux_enable="YES" is in rc.conf %sysctl -a | grep linux linux 9 1K 1K 9 32 compat.linux.osname: Linux compat.linux.osrelease: 2.4.2 compat.linux.oss_version: 198144 pf is enabled with ports 27015, 7002, 1200, 27005, 27012, 27010, and 27040 open for udp and tcp traffic. I've even tried disabling it to see if that was an issue, and apparently wasn't. Now my question is, does hlds need to be run from /compat/linux/ in order to properly function? Does /compat/linux/ need to be jailed and the user running hlds_l assigned to that jail? Any help would be much appreciated, and if ive missed anything, let me know.. Thanks, hw _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
