I realize that workaround will help in many configurations, but it not
compatible with our systems.
The ip cvar does exist for good reason.

HL2MP does not appear to support the ip cvar, and this is
preventing me from offering it as a service, since all our machines
are multihomed. Is this bug being worked on?
