have your startup command-line written properly, the server will

nothing else. Mandatory updates don't even require any user

What you never understood is that, dedicated servers don't run under
steam, and there for require manual
updates using the hldsupdatetool.exe, while the server is not running.

Next time write youe message and delete before sending. You will feel

Do us a favor and discontinue use of any products and software made in
the USA.
That will take care of your useless posts on American information systems.

That's because you'r not the intended recipient. There are people on
this list who work at GSP's (and others)
for server releases, sure, but for client releases, why? Guarantee you
that client releases would go much smoother for everyone if they
*never* announced them.

the update itself as a whole is what is optional. Optional, as opposed
to mandatory. Mandatory updates are forced, and are required for
clients and servers to connect with each other. Optional updates, I
presume, only contain changes that do not also require changes on the
client.

I know, just felt like ranting ;) Sorry. On-topic, don't people just
use the auto-update command line switch? Although I suppose the
current update in question would still require someone to kill the
server, as opposed to required updates that get forced by the master
servers.
