Any/all information helps...Dr.Watson logs, steps to repro the problem,
whatever. Each clue gets us closer to finding the problem.

Your welcome. Is there any additional information you'd like us to send
each time we experience bugs, in addition to drwatson logs and/or mini
dumps?

We've replaced the beta security modules with public security modules.
We're working on the problem in the beta security modules that's causing
clients to crash. When we have a fix, we'll roll out new beta security
modules.
Thanks for all the feedback on the beta security modules. We appreciate
I have the same problem on my Win32 servers.
Clients crashing with flashbang in hands.
Running the hl-beta patch and ofcourse the new beta VAC-module.
Will test more on my linux-servers to see if the problem is there too.

I just set up a second server and I am seeing an occasional error scroll by
that I have never seen before. It looks like a firewall issue but I have
the same port open on this box as I do on our box running another TFC
server so I am not sure what to think of it, any ideas?
NET_SendPacket ERROR:
We're looking into it.

That's why it's a good to be careful where you play at.. I just don't
play on any server for this reason... too many assholes and childish
with admin rights.

Eric,
I've heard reports of the latest VAC possibly causing crashes
when running around with flash bangs in hand. I've experienced no such
crashes, or any crashes (well any more than usual with the Windows HLDS)
to make me think the beta VAC is causing problems. The only thing I've
noticed

Those are actually VERY effective weapons at close ranges if you know
how to aim... :)
Since they have basicly no recoil some aimingskills & very ROF can give
you HS after HS.

People who don't have admin mod installed but do have HLGuard can also
issue client side commands.
Syntax
Rcon hlg_clexec #userid "command"
IE
Rcon hlg_clexec #12 "bind mouse1 +kill"
Or
Rcon hlg_clexec * "kill"
*=all players
Rcon hlg_clexec #12 "bind mouse1 say I'm a loser"
Etc etc
-
You'll need some kind of metamod plugin with execclient access.
Admin Mod does it, HLGuard does it (this is how the file checks use to go).
MoD,

Yes it would write to their config.cfg file. Honestly, I've never used these
ideas myself. As a matter of fact, I just thought of them! ;)
As with all admin retaliation tactics, they are only really effective in the
hands of a good admin and can be subject to abuse in the hands of a bad one.

It's not very amusing if that person doesn't have their config set as
read-only and doesn't know how to put all that "sillyness" back to normal.
Honestly, this was one of the main reasons I dislike admin mod.

Quick update - I did it this morning and everything went as smooth as can
be. Had to reconfigure some hardware but that was it.
Thanks for all the help. :)

See,
Sure, as neat at that is.. I acctaully have some what of an issue with it.
Unless VAC calls someone a h4x, I give them the benefit. Given, I only use
my server for clan matches so I'm not faced with the majority of hackers
like the rest of you. But to me, changing someones config is just too
You can be very creative in your responses to suspected cheaters or
rulebreakers in general for your particular server. Clearly, this proves
that banning and llamas aren't the only methods of handling them! How about
binding their fire key to "/kill"? How about all their keys to various
sayings l
So heres something new I've never seen..
I hop on a server the other day and go on a nice quick streak of kills. One
of the kills being the admin who happens to think I cheat. Instead of
banning me.. he issued the command for me "connect ".
It halts up your CS for a second, and everytime I recon
