Can I ask you, if you personally test HL+WineX at Valve, or just are
informed (quickly) by users?

We've had some reports of problems with the latest VAC security modules and

P3s, P4s and a dual Xeon all under RH 7.2 or 7.3, 2.4.x have performed
well for us. I have seen a lot of complaints on 8.0 and up though.
I don't think your problem is the 3.1.1.1.x efficiency issue. We saw a
consistent 20-40% increase in load but nothing strange like what you

Slightly off topic, but the latest bf1942 linux beta has had some serious
issues (I think this is 99% bf code, rather than linux) but a few did some
serious compile tests, and found that making sure to turn off apm, and smp
in uniprocessor systems, lowered the cpu usage a noticable ammount.
According to the great words of Deacon:
Remember, CPU usage increases almost exponentially for every extra 2
slots over 12 or 14.
Even below 12, it increases exponentially as you add players, it's just
that it is so low that it's not really noticable.

It also depends on how many are rarely used priv servers. If you have 15
servers running but only 2 at a time are being played on then load will be
fine.

Sorry if this has been covered already, i'm sure it has, I was just
curious APPROXIMETLY how much bandwidth is used by a server that is
semi-full ONLY during the day, like between 9-18 players for 8-9 hours a
day. If you guys could just throw out some guestimates, much 3 Thanks

How do i get a bot set up on my ded server?? I would prefer pod bot but i can settle
for hpb bot, i see people talking about podbot.so on the net but i cant find anywhere
to download it.
Hmm looking at my traffic usage, a full 16 player server on dust and
aztec averages around 35-40Kbyte in and out. Always leave room on your
bandwidth for spikes though, so call my figures 50Kbyte in and out for
16 players.
Cheers,
