Hey all you server-admin types!
Ok, I have a friend who's doing some server hosting, and wants to force a
server to be private. (require a password) is there any way to do this from
the command line? Would he have to invoke +servercfgfile
/path/to/dir/outside/hlds/dir/password.cfg?

With AdminMod, just do an admin_restrict weaponname (admin_restrict awp).
Though, I think there are some issues with this and autobuy.

Of course. On one of the servers there aren´t even a firewall so the problem
must be with HLDS or Valve.

are displayed as html as well :(

For those who are interested, I solved my problem by coding a metamod
plugin that precaches the sounds server side, triggering them to be
downloaded.
If there is interest, I can release the metamod and adminmod plugins I
am using (the adminmod one only plays the sounds to all clients).
