Hej,
There are a couple new once... There was some reason why I choosed rh9.
probably some of the libs needed a newer version... since there where a
lot of changes between 5.2.1 and 5.3 I cant compare the two installs. In
5.3 I see a higher average CPU usage, but the servers seems to respond
It would be nice with a link to the tutorial... ;p

Out of curiousity, what NIC was it? How did you conclude it was the NIC?

My conclusion, wasn't relly a conclusion at all.
I was out of leads as to how the problem could have been fixed, and the
fact I couldn't see any network response issues, no CPU or processing
issues, I decided to take Stephen's advice to try and change my NIC.
I was fortunate that it worked, and
Cheers for the feedback, always good to know resolutions whereas
sometimes a lot of people wonder wth it was that caused it :).

Can someone confirm the number of spawn points dust2 is supposed to
have? I run a 32 player server, but only 25 people can join this map.
I've tried opening a ticket with Valve as well as posting on the
steampowered forums and have received no response.
I thought it was bumped to 40 spawn points
With these lagspikes, are they latency related spikes or is it noticable
from choke?
I have seen choke spikes every now and then. perhaps its NIC related. I
have to try and find a oneunit NIC and test it. My servers uses the bge
and fxp cards.
What is the driver called for the d-link card?
i wouldn't use netcards other then intel 100 or 1000
or broadcom tg3's
they are both very reliable

True, but if there is something in the driver or related code to these
cards that makes these spikes, I rather go for a card that dont give me
those problems.

you guys may want to ban the following steamid: STEAM_0:1:5291510
this guy was on my CS:S server, was banned for TK'ing player (by a

crash the CS:S server. he continued his attack (looked like connect

I'm sure you'll find this hard to believe but I happen to know who that is.
If you would like further information on Mr. Chris Mcgovern you can email me

shit like this. I would be happy to provide you with whatever
My server segfaults nearly every day (srcds_i486, 2.4.28-gentoo-r5 SMP
kernel, glibc-2.3.4.20040808-r1). I don't see these connection attempt
spams though..
It's becoming really frustrating. The pub is 32 players and pretty
popular. It really ruins the experience when it crashes 2-3 times a
