Well I only recently have seen this problem, I have never had a problem
before connecting to my server when it was using VAC2, just since the last 1
or 2 updates.. also if I disable VAC2 on the server, then the problem goes
away...

When that's done then issue a yum remove sendmail

I couldnt tell you for sure. this is the packages section from the
kickstart file that was generated
%packages
@ web-server
@ server-cfg
@ dialup
@ development-tools
@ text-internet
kernel-smp-devel
kernel-smp
e2fsprogs
sendmail is on the system as I am sure other things are as well.
I will
It has to be something configuration wise since others with less beefy
machines are running the same loads.
HOw did you install CentOS? di you use the minimal install and then add
stuff in? I always install via minimal install and then yum install
. This minimizes the crap that gets installed

I am running amxmodx.

32.4% cpu utilization on a full 20 man cs server.
The system has 2GB of ram. My problem isnt how much memory its using.
It is the cpu utilization. I don't believe I had this problem when
the server was running the Windows OS. I will try different distros

I use the i686 binary. I can put 3 to 4 completely full CS 1.6 servers on
a dual Xeon
And i suggested trying CentOS 3.5..:)
What are you server.cfg's(blank out your rcon passwords) Also what are
your memory statstics? Are you running any mods as well?

Have you read any of this thread?
I am on linux and that seems to be my apparent problem.

that. I just wanted to see what the limit was. I was also running

I suspect I could have put more servers on my opteron and had more

I asked about this off list - and its normal - VAC2 doesn't display
"Downloading Security Module" anymore.

I can't really comment on the rest, I have no experience with Windows
servers. If its any aid to you, I run Debian 3.1 with (currently) the
2.6.12.3 kernel. I've always had a 2.6 kernel, even on Debian 3.0
Reading the below though, I don't believe your setup was truly that
different from mine. At
Hi,
After the update to VAC2, my Clients don't have to download a
Security-Modul...
Are you sure, that the Server running on the right version ?

On another note. Can some of you guys running linux give me the

Yeah, that is the problem. Since an HT system reports twice as many
processors, vmstat mis-reports maximum CPU usage. It sees four
processors reported, but in reality there are only two execution units.
Ok, the relevant mentioning for HLDS:
http://steampowered.com/index.php?area=news&id=431 @ see "sv_uploadmax".
IIRC it's set at 0.5mb by default.
SRCDS has no such limit AFAIK. I'm unsure of dimension restrictions,
never had an issue there.
