I'm not exactly sure about it, but I believe if you are gonna use bzip, you gotta bzip everything everything on the sv_downloadurl server is bzipped, nothing on the game server itself (where the .res file is) is bzipped. i havent seen any requests in the logs on the downloadurl server for a .re

It IS your kernel timer, and this IS common accross 2.4 kernels who'se default timer resolution is 100Hz. You need to lift this, most people go the whole order of magnetude to give a max of around 500fps or so. hope my accurate statement won't be ignored for foolish attempts such as playing with

Check your kernel's timer resolution. There is alot of prior discussion about this in the mailing list archives. You need a high resolution timer, the default 100Hz timer will restrict you to 50FPS max, causing what is described. Given that you are running -tickrate 66 there is no need to set sv
