I wouldn't say HT is normal. More like somewhere in between. I only
commented because he specified a machine type of which mine is not.

couple things also to add to this I run mine on windows due to random
reasons but in any case I didn't really see signifigent memory usage till I
started using things like sys_tickrate and other things to help speed up the
server. Might give some of those a shot.

Stupid question, but... you are using the SMP version of it, aren't you?
Don't laugh, because after the last kernel release, yum set grub to
default to the UP version...

Don't use top for memory usage, use "free". Linux will always use pretty
much all available ram as a type of cache, and just swap out any unused
chunks as needed, end result you will always have < 8% free probably, thats
perfectly normal. Free wil
With vmstat we saw no swap change during load, map restart.

Out of everyone on this list, I have tested with a ton of different setups,
Intel / AMD CPUs, with and without HT, Dual Core and Other functionality,

Hey, the last days my debian sarge linux hlds server didn't crashed but
kicked all players without a reasion! the server stood and they could
connect again immediately! today i startet an update via hldsupdatetool
and my linux server was updatet from version 22 to 21 (no error, that

Hello,
just a short question. Does anybody use logrotate for a logfile rotation
of their hlds or srcds logfiles. And if so, what does your config file
from /etc/logrotate.d look like?

After much wasted time I was able to get the server working by simply reverting
to version 21.
Revert to previous version using
./steam -beta linux -command update -game whatever
and dont forget to add your -dir location
Thanks to all for your help
Hi,
First of all (just in case u looked over it yourself) sv_lan is in your
server.cfg file
twice..
2nd.. If your server doesnt show up on steam etc. I'd suggest play about with
the
sv_region setting.. Just google for sv_region and you should find something on
it..
