That is funny because in the Valve press release over 3 years ago announcing
64bit support they were showing over 30% cpu savings in their tests. - and
most of us see more than that now.

Gee, they sure did make a big deal about releasing 64bit binaries two
years ago I think the hosting companies, which deal with this game
and it's subsequent faults on a daily basis, might know what they are
talking about. The 64bit binaries are more stable for high frames,

Just ignore me. I was answering 4 different questions at the same time.
(though honestly Valve has no reason to support 64bit binaries at this
time.)

Someone posted the error message. Sometimes they still showup in the
server logs. I believe what happens is sometimes the servers don't show
up as Secure in the ingame search and people who are banned attempt to
connect to your server and then the server which actually is in secure
mode catches

with some 64 bit floats or integers. (It would help not using the lib32
libraries, but this really isn't a Valve problem)

Only a little niggle and not important at all but.
Any chance the hlds_run script can be changed for the next update to set
the auto-detect to pick up AMD Opteron / AMD64 as the amd binaries
rather than still try and run them as 64bit but without vac2. At least

Do you have any information regarding the implementation of VAC2 for the

that the number of 64-bit servers used, both AMD Opteron and Athlon 64
based, is increasing exponentially. We only use AMD Opteron based
servers fo

Obviously unless you are running an old version of HLDS you will be
using VAC2.

Alfred,
The update still didnt fully fix the STEAM VALIDATION REJECTED bug. We're
still having this bug on our windows machines.
Ive checked and double checked if the update installed correctly, and ran a
verify all update.
The server console displays the same message as before.

We have nearly 350 servers and they are all reniced.
Why do we do it? Performance, testing has shown that the server performs
better. In the same way that many people increase the priority of the
