hello
I have a linux dedicated server. Redhat 8. And i installed 1.6 servers to
it. But when i try to query(infostring) to these 1.6 servers, there is no
answer from query script. I tried another 1.6 servers, i can query them.
This mean query
OK, just in case anyone is interested in my solution: I tried around a
bit and watched the situation a few days. I found out there's no
relationship in what netstat is showing, servers appeared offline
regardless what netstat was showing.

By this time time most of our cs1.6 servers had this problem. I then
found the solution to remove the -pingboost 1 parameter of our command
line - that's it, and it's working since 24 hours by now.
Don't be too excited though. We are running a few publics without the
-pingboost command and
The servers cannot handle as much requests as they get so valve has to
buy more servers and put them online to function updates properly!

Yes, we have this problem and we solve it with
.steam/ClientRegistry.blob deleting.

Don't be too excited though. We are running a few publics without the

happens every few days.
I wonder why you cannot find much information about it although there
seem to be some people having this problem. But if you find
Where can I find this file? My whole hlds directory does not have it!

Hi all,
I trusted VAC/VAC2 but since a few days, gamerz don't stop complaining about
cheaters on our servers.
Today I've spent multiple hours of observation and I saw lots of cheaters.
Afterwards, I spent hours Google and lots of CS-forums looking for a better
way to protect our servers from
that's the blob you need to get rid of.

You must find fisrt .steam directory.
This directory will be in the user home directory you use for Steam.
And the file will be in.
An other way :
find / | grep 'ClientRegistry.blob'

Thanks, that helped me much! Updates are workerling properly now!
Still I have no clue how to run Amxmodx and Metamod properly on my 64bit
machine with Suse 9.3 64bit edition!
My liblist.gam loads the metamod_amd64.so properly, metamod runs fine!
But amxmodx makes problems!
My metamod
I was thinking of trying that SteamBans thing. What I understand it does is
when a player connects, the plugin connects to SteamBans.com global list. If
the player is banned on there, it won't allow them to connect to any
servers, including yours, that are running the SteamBans plugin.

Unfortunately that's something we have to live with.
Mature admins are the best AC solution at the moment.
It's just crazy how many EULA violators are around these days. In my eyes
that's a clear sign of VAC's and VAC2's failure.

One thing I don't agree with (sorry VALVe) is the delayed banning. I realize
they are trying to make it so the cheaters don't know what hack they used.
But IMO, that's not very smart. The reason for an anti-cheat tool is to weed
them out before they wreak havoc, not after they've had their fun.
Please give us the return of :
ldd amxmodx_mm_amd64.so

Indeed. It's also possible to create a banlist of your own and let the
plugin check that too. So if you want to ban someone and you don't want to
upload it to SteamBans, you can always add it to your own banlist. The
plugin also checks that list. An example is our list:
