Same here. I had a player complain about this, but it was fine earlier
today. Restarted the server on so far just fine.

I have also noticed a huge increase in resource usage after the last few
updates, along with the fps dips the same as yours with more than 20 players
in-game. Once you get 24-30+ tickrate even starts to drop as cpu usage
(according to htop, i know not very accurate) bounces off the high 90%'s.

It's not hanging. It's still checking for updates. Again, check disk I/O
when you're running the update and you will notice a spike of activity while
it reads the files.

I am seeing the same thing for any game. It looks to be happening in
London for us. Its happening with just running the autoupdate, the server
just hangs on updating.

Also, make sure you only run that on one game instance at a time, if you can
help it, otherwise your disk goes crazy trying to seek between the files in
the different installs constantly, and throughput drops like a rock

Removing -verify_all should greatly reduce the time it takes to perform an
update. You'll instantly notice a difference when you take this
command-line argument out. Every once in a while, just for fun, add it back
in to make sure everything is kosher, but it is generally safe to run an
update wi
It does the file verify before it updates. Check your disk i/o and you
should see a spike of activity when it's running.

Hi guys,
I've had a look around but can't find anyone reporting the same issue.
Is anyone find updates are running PAINFULLY slow.

Hi,
The rare crashbug we experienced before now became a rare stall bug. The
process no longer crashes, but stalls.
The stall is still at the same point as the crash was, during map
change. It's only observed in very rare cases and not re-producible for
us.
Cheers

I did switch it back, but then we needed to get RTL working again. Which we
did. Now it's all dandy with Old Queue Mode+RTL

I've had same problem, no clue how to fix it. I just turn off server when
not playing so it gets restarted fresh when people want to start a new game.

RTFM: i had another instance (l4d) running, but only one port above
(27016). changed Port to 27050 and it works with VAC.
