My stuff has gotten rcon crashed a few times, i tried making the kick
convars so high, that it'd be megaspam for them to work... but still a few
get through.
so i thought about shutting off rcon with an iptables rule, but i want to
allow certain addresses so admins and I can still use hlsw.

I have the exact same problem, its some kind of connect crash. It happens on a
server without any mods. I thought valve fixed this?
Please can someone post a fix ASAP !!!

Shane,
I have some more developments. I found a way to easily reproduce the
bug, and it happens in vanilla Left 4 Dead (no mods or maps installed)
with a little help from the hlstats.pl daemon.
To reproduce:
- Install HLstatsX Community Edition
-- Setup the database
-- Setup the web service
-
And before you reply back saying "but it's logging because it only
happens when it's enabled" run a vanilla with logging enabled as it
seems this is the only combination you didn't try.

Turn off all plugins, check which plugin causes this and then go to the
plugin forum, not here.

Actually I was using the plain text version.
And I was just generally wondering if it could simply be re-read.

Did this issue go away? Our dmesg is showing the same segfaults:

All,
Apologies for the long post, but I've been ripping my hair out over this
for some time...
I currently run 3 Left 4 Dead instances on a colocated server running
Debian Lenny x86_64 with all the latest updates installed. The L4D
servers all have the following installed:
MetaMod:Source 1.7.1
So
I've got all my MOTDs set as just being meta refresh tags pointing to
a page on a different server so I can make changes whenever I want and
have them take effect instantly (and I can have a decent amount of
code in it). Might be worth looking into if you change yours often.

Seemed to me like it was cached. Cause when I reconnected to the server
I still got the old MOTD.
