I received a whole bunch sound files, class files, test .so's, etc. No
actual update was required, it just seems to be needlessly downloading
files (Perhaps lessening the blow to when CSS is finally moved, or a
significant engine update).

Yeah, my dev machine has really taken a hit in the last two weeks. Had to
install another hard drive just for the game files. If this is going to be
the norm, I'll have to rethink the setup next time I create a machine for my
dev work.

I'm getting a massive update when I update our tf2 servers, but no version
change on restart. Looks like its downloading some hl2 client files again?
It's downloading a lot of files in /hl2/sound/

Is there an option for srcds based games not to change the port number
when the port is used on start?
I just want it to tell me that the port is allready in use and quit.
