I can confirm that it no longer is giving me 'illegal instruction', as well. Many thanks, Valve! I didn't get to host for a long time and look forward to serving players again. On Fri, Sep 16, 2011 at 12:52 PM, Chris Russell wrote: > Update, after the latest L4D2 patch my server is no longer cras

Sadly, the Friday update Sept 2 did not fix the 'illegal instruction' bug that I've experienced recently. My problem is that I'm not sure if it's an issue with the dedicated server or the actual OS. How would I go ahead and troubleshoot? On Wed, Aug 31, 2011 at 11

Also, did Valve ever announce their move to SSE3? I wasn't on the mailing list until recently. If there's any date when they did say so, it would make it much easier to go through the archives. On Wed, Aug 24, 2011 at 1:10 PM, Arthur Lin wrote: > Thanks for informing me about that

This problem seems to pop up on forums at least once every year. I'm not sure if it has something to do with a routine update to Ubuntu or any update to L4D2 srcds. Everything is a fresh install without any plug-ins or cfgs since I'm troubleshooting. Simply running ./srcds_run or ./srcds_linux give

[hlds_linux] How do I protect specific files found in the VPK?

This is specific for L4D2, possibly L4D1. I'm trying to do in whitelist.cfg: left4dead2/scripts/radialmenu.txt check_crc But it doesn't work. cl_print_consistency_list (when connected to a server) seems to only recognize files outside of the vpk. Is there a way I can enforce consistency of speci

I remember reading that VAC banning is done in a way where they try to round up as many cheaters before dropping the hammer on them. That and they keep quiet on how their system works exactly. On Thu, May 20, 2010 at 9:38 AM, Saint K. wrote: > On our filled 32 slot server I can express our bans

I can create and finish a coop game on my server via sv_search_key and lobby, but whenever I try to connect to a non-coop gamemode like survival, versus, mutation, etc., my server crashes and restarts accordingly. I don't think it's from complicated server.cfg settings, because I tried reducing dow
