How about compiling with an updated version of GCC, so that we don't have to use 5
year old distributions to compile our mods? It hasn't been called "EGCS" for 4.5 years
now.

You didn't specify a starting map.
./hlds_run -game dmc +map "mapname" +maxplayers "players"
Putting it in server.cfg won't work, as that's executed after the map
has been loaded.

Has anyone wrote anything to utilize the GetStatus command of logmod?
I'm having a bear of a time getting it to return any information, and
would like to know what someone else did to get it to respond.

You can open some form of text editor, and make a shell script. This is mine:
