You'd think valve would be familiar with, say, svn or other type of
repository technology. Then an update would be automerged with your
files automatically
still, you can always use motdfile and mapcyclefile cvars to point to
other filenames that wont get overwritten.

NOT a bone weight issue, this has been an issue with the last 4 or 5
releases.
Bad pointer to free(). has *nothing* to do with cpu type etc. Its
just bad programming.

The only real solution to this is to use SVN or something similar rather
than the stupid valve updating mechanism.
SVN would merge changes for you (in text files anyway).
I do this for sourcemod. it makes things much easier.
