for the existence of a dodsbeta folder wherever you are.

Any particular reason that DOD:S relies on TF2 servers, as when
you run the update it forces a check on TF2 e.g.

AFAIK it's just the official depot name for the Orange Box Linux
Dedicated Server. The package contains the binaries, libraries and
ancilliary files; no TF2-specific stuff should be included.
