27015 on TCP and UDP is definitely not enough. It should be I think, but the
experimental data is disproving the theory. :/
27015 is open, along with many other ports I have found that maybe be it,

If you are looking for a router that runs Linux, I
Make sure you have no IPtables/Firewall running issues maybe.

I'm Using NetGear WGT624. I got it cheap. It has worked well for me for
years but has simple features. I'm currently looking for an open source
firmware compatible router that supports 'dd-wrt' or 'openwrt'. Also a
possibility of using a linux distro router project on old computer
(vyatta?). Router
I can connect to the server behind the router using the external IP.
The people outside my ISP can't connect going through console using the
"connect IP:port;password " command, and no matter how many times they
try (20+) it doesn't work. Could this be an amplified version of the
time-out problems
What router do you have? Some don't like "local loopback" connections

You only have to portforward 27015, both udp and tcp in your router.
Then its only to wait !
I have many servers behind one "router" and I cant set the public ip in
startli

I would appreciate any help or possible ideas on what is going wrong, at
this point I'm pretty desperate.
I have installed an HLDS server for CS 1.6 on a computer running openSUSE in
my house, behind our router. The server works, and I can connect to it using
the external IP of my router when I ha
