Before making any moves like creating a GSP mailing list, would it not be
appropriate to finally make a proper srcds mailing list? In addition to
being painfully overdue, this might decrease some of the traffic, and would
also make threads easier to sort out (especially now with two overlapping
I just noticed that I'm dragging up somewhat of a dead conversation, but
regardless, this thread is far more productive than the GSP flame thread. I
apologize for multiple posts, but I accidentally copy-pasted only part of my
post.
A server wiki is also very important, but the key here is that

I'd rather just see users who repeatedly ask questions (after a reminder
that the list is hlds_Linux, not linuxhelp) removed from this list.
It does get irritating seeing constant posts about fedora's plethora of
flaws but isn't that much of a problem. Being on yet another mailing
list is a bit

What about technical consultants who generate about 40% of their
revenue in supporting the GSP industry?
The laxidasical manner in which many people operate will never change.
Moreover, it's not unlikely that many of the stupid questions come
from GSP employee's too.
What you really need is one

Agreed about the mass marking of email. Pine is your friend. :D
As for the list, I'm not sure that will work as you expect. Creating a
GSP only list assumes, but not limited to the following:
1) The people on the list will know what they're talking about.

Meh. If somehting so stupid is going to happen, all I would request is
a notification before hand. There are a handful of this list who I
consider to be sources of accurate information, and those people I
would remain in contact with no matter what happens. Other than that
I'm done with the topic.
