increase your client rate to 5 or higher. after the update on
january 28/29th not only the rate 30k limit (which was fixed now) was
introduced. they also changed some internal processings which
obviously caused the engine not to bail out the given rate. rate 30k
limited at about 20kb/s for me.
I get 40+ choke on my windows x64 servers which use affinity and max cmd and
update 100 and maxrate 0. My FPS max is 0 and they peak maybe at <90 percent
a core and use 2mb of ram out of 4 on a Q6600. I was getting this before the
update capped maxrate though, so a little baffled here.

I am seeing zero coke and zero drop in update rate since the 30k bug was
fixed, except in situations where my server is getting poor FPS (which
is the same old generic server lag, not anything net related). What

You need higher than 30k for 24 players...believe me.

I am seeing 0 choke on full 32x with lots of action. No net lag.
Stupid question, but, are you setting *your* rate to like 6? It
will do you no good if you don't have a maxrate and your own rate
above 30.

I can confirm this, the lags are still there. The limit was not the reason
for the lags.

So the only reason for limiting the max rate is to manage your bandwidth, im
leaving mine at 0 then :D

Well, the 30K bug is not it then, since it was supposed to have been
fixed yesterday -- tried 24 people today and servers are down to 30-40

not fixed. its the rate 30k limit your talking about. it just makes me
crazy seing how valve kills all high-performance servers.

Im not holding my breath much longer, these issues have generated so much
public negative feedback that im on the brink of refunding all of my
existing tf2 customers and dropping support for the game entirely. These
bugs are literally killing small business.

Will this serverlag that has been around for the past month be fixed
any time soon? As soon as a server (any server, it seems) hits 18+
players, the server drops down to 25-50 ticks and everything gets
really choppy. Seems odd that this still is unfixed, considering it's
quite major.
