The default one is 300.

What kind of kernel are you using?
Looks like the same problem of the other time affecting only realtime
preempt kernels :/

What's currently the default fps_max value if not forced via command line?
66.67?
btw I was just reporting a problem that happens only when using specific
frame rates (333=bad, 300=ok, 500=ok) that COULD lead to similar
problems if the bug is p

This is the Linux server list... my pc is powerful enough but don't
know
who cares about how fast is my PC as I do not play TF2...
I just run servers on servers boxes.

I'd advice you if you don't know about the subject remove the fps_max flag,
as it will play against you.
Also, 333 isn't a good number. Try using fps_max 100 instead, it's better if
you have a slower PC.

Something is still broken into the fps limiter:
while having the fps_max set to 300 cpu load while the server is empty is ok
with fps_max set to 333 cpu load stay high (same as when the server is
full) even with empty servers
fps_max set to 0 (resulting costantly within the 497.30 ~ 497.70 fps

I recommend Dynamic ticks, as it pretty much tells the kernel "update at will"
instead of a set update schedule. (hardware limited obviously)

Interesting.

Interesting. Ok, I have recompiled a few kernals, I may as well take a crack
at it. So is there a mak value for kernel_hz or some formula that will help
you decide a good rate to set it? -Theo

We like to put ours in the startup script. However if the most FPS you
get is 333 then you likely need to recompile your kernel for 1000Hz
kernel timer.

You need to re-compile your kernel for either 1000hz or tickless kernel if you
want higher fps. Not an easy task for those who are not familiar with it; I
suggest you try it on a virtual instance or spare box before you go and blow up
your pro

I don't really get how this works. I set it high (1000) and I got around
333. I set it to 0 and it said I was getting 46-48. I think my hardware and
bandwidth can handle anything I throw at it so I really wanted to get this
optimized. Can someone
