In my own case, I find that a gold rim on my dry embouchure works best. Silver doesn't seem to move at all for me (besides I'm alergic to silver), and gold seemed too slippery when I tried to change to a wet embouchure in the 1970's. So, it's been gold and dry for more than twenty years.
