Hello,
I have a Conn 8DR and can assure you that the leadpipe, first branch, and
complete bell are completely rose brass. I have friends with rose brass Holton
horns as well, and those are also genuine rose brass. Possibly, people were
being confused because when the laquer wears off of rose
I have seen a couple Conn horns with the rose coloring
peeling. I have also heard this is true from
repairmen.
Now, maybe Conn changed their process in the last few

them back to Conn. They are regular brass with gold colored laquer. I saw it
with my own eyes when I was in his shop.

Hi folks,
Long time no post!
Have a quick question for you.
I've been booked to play first in "Solomon" next year, but I'm having
trouble getting any further details. Can't get hold of a full score or
parts, only vocal score.
I've found "Salomo" in an excerpt book with a couple of choruses (Ho
The NYO is taken from among the best of Britain's school-age musicians. They
are all at least Grade 8 distinction standard (i.e. about the standard you
would need to reach in order to enter one of the music colleges.)
That concert (and all others they give) is preceded by a 2-week intensive
