I just purchased a two CD set on Dutton Vocalion a few weeks ago that has two schmatlzy
track "Will you remember" and (I don't remember). THa Brain plays on/
Unfortunate;y. I moved all of my recordings into a heap and covered them with dropcloths
in anticipation of the painter coming last week and then I broke my ankle, so I can't
pullout the disc at the moment, though you can go to the Vocalion website and search for
Dennis Brain. I believe that Roberto Ingles and Bob Sharples were two IDs of the same
Mantovani-type bandleaded, though I am now going on 100% memory. In any case, they are no
big whoop; legato and well played, but not up to the over the top hyperbole on the liner
notes. Still, they are super-budget priced and worth grabbing if you have a strong
interest in Brain (and you really ought to, IMNSHO.
If I locate the site and more info, I'll write more later.

Inspired by a recent discussion on this list (or was it =22the other list=22) I=
have just read Jasper Rees' fascinating book - =22I found my horn=22.
Lots of interesting stuff - I read it too quickly but will be re-reading it=
before too long. I was especially intrigued to read that Dennis Brain had =
played with Roberto Inglez and his orchestra. Is anyone able to point me in=
the direction of some recordings of D.B. in this context=3F I've found some =
CDs on Amazon but none of them mention Dennis Brain by name - is there anyo=
ne out there in the know=3F
