When Mozart rearranged Händels The Messiah the art of clarino trumpet playing had declined. Hence Mozart transferred the trumpet obligato of Sound the Trumpet to the horn. Funny thing is that the German text is Erschallt die Posaune (Sound the Trombone), and Mozart should have been able to find
