Any of the current crop of devices from Zoom, Korg, Yamaha, Edirol and the like are perfectly adequate for horn practice sessions.  I know an opera singer who will set his Korg on the back of the hall during rehearsal week in the theater and gets great results from 200 feet away. Paxmaha ___
