I'd like to announce a new website I've created based on my doctoral
dissertation. In a nutshell, it's a tool intended to aid in the study of
orchestral excerpts. It contains excerpts from 46 works commonly found on
horn auditions, and each excerpt is accompanied by several different
recordings for the purpose of comparing performance style, interpretation,
tempi, etc. The recordings can only be played back through your web-browser.
The site is located at:

http://www.hornexcerpts.org

I haven't had an opportunity to test the site on a wide variety of
computers/browsers, so if you run into any bugs or glitches please let me
know. I recommend using a computer with a broadband connection (cable, DSL,
etc.) If you're using a dial-up connection the audio files will load
_extremely_ slow.
