Way back when didn't Conn make longer main tuning slides for those who need
to tune the horn lower?

Try the Conn 9D. It's probably the best of both worlds.

This was two years ago, but when trying a new 8D along with a new 10D, the

Or try the Holton 8D copy - 188. I'm no expert but I
did try one and it seemed good. Apparently, it is in
its design a faithful copy of a '60s 8D. Apparently.

Gee, I thought 8D's were so 1960s.

I should add, try the Hoyer 6801/2. Same wrap, roughly the same price, and a
fantastic horn. Making plans to replace my 8D.

I have played both recently. The craftsmanship of the Yamaha is far
superior to the 8-D. However, it doesn't seem to blow as freely as the
8-D. When buying a new horn for my high school band, I chose the Yamaha

Hey everyone,
I'd like to know everyone's opinions on the current Conn 8Ds that the factory
is churning out. I heard they are pretty good. What do you think, good or bad?
Can they be likened to the Yamaha 668NDII?
Thanks,
