In addition to this excellent advice, it is helpful if you edit the Subject line of your email so that it reflects your actual subject.

Also, it isn't just Windows mail clients that allow you to edit emails; Mac clients and most web mail applications also allow editing.

Yes - use your Delete key before you send.  It is a simple matter on a
Windows machine to put the cursor at the beginning of the text you wish to remove, then hold down the shift key and use the down arrow or page- down
keys to highlight the text you wish to remove.  At that point, hit the
Delete key and it will be gone.
