I agree with Hans. While I prefer string linkage, the Knopf i have for sale has the most perfect Mechanical links I have ever seen. Much, MUCH better than the UNIBALL that I have played. Besides the horn being 50+ years old, it is quiet, fast, and no bearing play whatsoever. I had my horn tech tweak the links to make sure they are in perfect alignment.
With any mass produced horn, you will need to make some adjustments to fit your playing, taste and feel. Don't feel bad about having to do work to a new horn, even custom hand made horns need to be tweaked to suit a player.
